Frank HetheringtonFrank Hethington passed away last Saturday, 29th September, two weeks before his 94th birthday. Frank joined the club in 1940 as a wicket-keeper/batsman and played for the 1st XI the same year. He served as a bombardier in the Royal Artillery in Burma and India from 1942 to 1947. A cabinet maker by profession, he possessed many skills that helped the club out on many occasions. In 1955, under Howard Bang's captaincy, he headed the Liverpool Competition wicket-keeping table with 28 victims. Frank spent many years as a Committee member and after his playing days finished, he continued to support the club. He was honoured with a Life Membership in 1965. |
