The 2008 Annual Hotpot and Presentation Night

The 2008 Annual Hotpot and Presentation Night took place last Friday, 19th September.Again the event was well attended by players and non-players. Each captain gave a review of their season and then the awards were presented by Club President, Mike Poole.

1stXI Awards

Best Performance - Batting Chris Bellis - 118 against Liverpool
Best Performance - Bowling Phil Calrow - 7 for 26 at Highfield

FirstXI awards are introduced by Robbie Houghton (top right). David Baird collects the bowling award (top left) and below we have the "Best Performances" for batting (left) is Chris Bellis and bowling (right) is Phil Calrow.

Ben Moore (batting and Paul Squires (fielding) were unable to collect their awards.

2ndXI Awards

Shaw Wali was unable to collect the bowling award for the 2ndXI but Iain Squires(above right) stood in for Peter Jones, introducing them and found himself named for the batting award (top left). Ian Seabury (left) took the fielding award.

James Pearce (top right) introduced the 3rdXI awards. Nick Blackburn (top left) won the batting. Robin Brown (bottom left) won the bowling and Rick Anderson (bottom right) won the fielding award

Best Performance Vince Abel 100 and 5 for 61 including hat trick v Liverpool Thirds ( opening partnership of 157 between Vince and James Baird)

Robin Surtees (top right) introduced the 4thXI awards.

James Baird (top left) took the batting award. Rob Kelly (middle left )the bowling award and Stuart Lomas (middle right) the fielding award.

The performance of the season (and probably for many seasons) went to Vince Abel (below) who scored 100 and took 5 for 61 including a hat trick in the 4thXI game against Liverpool thirds.

5thXI Awards

Jamie Bowman (top right) introduced the 5thXI award, the first year that the club has fielded five Saturday sides. Simon Gozzard (top left) won the batting award, Chris Mitchell (bottom left) the bowling award and wicketkeeper Adam Taylor the fielding award.

Schoolboy of the Year

James Baird was named as Schoolboy of the Year and (left) received an award for scoring the highest score in Lancashire Schools cricket with 155 for Liverpool under 15's
