Saturday 12th July....1stXI win at Huyton, Shah Wali hat-trick for seconds

The 1stXI visited Huyton a put them into bat. The home team scored slowly and were eventually dismissed for 96 at the end of the 55th over. At one time, they were 27 for 6 but put on 52 for the seventh wicket. Robbie Houghton was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 for 35. In reply Sefton required 29 overs to reach the required total, Ben Moore batted all the innings for 60 not out and John Jackson scored 24 as Sefton lost 3 wickets in reaching the required total.

Lytham visited Sefton Park for the 2ndXI game. Sefton batted first and Paul Squires scored 94 in the Sefton total of 184. An exciting finish saw the visitors win off the last ball for the loss of 8 wickets. Shah Wali took 6 for 46 including a hat-trick.

The 3rdXI visited Liverpool to play their thirds and dismissed the home side for 131 with Vince Abel taking 4 for 31.Sefton won by 6 wicket with new boy Karl Dar scoring 70 not out.

The 4thXI played a strong Ormskirk's thirds on the Lower Ground. The visitors were put into bat and scored 176 for 8 declared. Rob Kelly took 4 for 45 and Robin Surtees 2 for 34. In reply Sefton were dismissed for 110 with James Baird scoring 35 and Robin Surtees 22.

The 5thXI travelled to Ainsdale to play their third XI. The home side won the toss, batted and declared on 206 for 8, Chris Mitchell took 3 for 29. In reply Sefton were dismissed for 153 with Tom Baird (37), Simon Gozzard (24) and Naj Ahmed (26) scoring runs.

Sunday 13th July....Defeat at Northern

The1stXI were knocked out of the Business Assistance Knockout at Northern . They batted first and were dismissed for 134 in 39 overs with Robbie Houghton (46) and Phil Calrow (28 not out) top scoring. The home side reached the required total in the 26th over without losing a wicket.
