Saturday 16th August.....Seven wickets for Phil Calrow in win at Highfield

The 1stXI travelled to Wiagn to play Highfield. They won the toss and put the home team in to bat but soon lost Dave Finch from the bowling attack through injury. Phil Calrow came on to bowl earlier than he may have expected and took his chance claiming 7 for 26 in 18 overs. The home side were dismissed for 165 in the 59th over. In reply, Ben Moore scored 64 and David Baird 33 not out as Sefton reached the required total in 48 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.

The 2ndXI game was a victim of the weather. Liverpool were the visitors to Sefton Park and batted first, declaring on 200 for 6 in 46 overs, Jonny Woodsmith was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 19. Sefton's reply reached 84 for 4 when the rain started, Iain squires finished on 27 not out.

The 3rdXI visited Ormskirk and dismmised the home side for 121 with Sam Lister (3 for 21 off 12 overs) and James Pearce (2 for 9) taking wickets. The target did not prove to be easy and Jordan Kevan joined skipper James Pearce for the last wicket with 8 runs still required. A six from the captain saw his side home as he finished on 20 not out, Matt Child earlier scored 24.

The 4thXI remain bottom of the table after a home defeat by Maghull's thirds. They batted first and were dismissed for 140 with Terry Cordner (41), Robin Surtees (39) and Jakob Surtees-Smith (26) top scoring. The visitors lost only one wicket in reaching the required total.

The 5thXI travelled to Southport Trinity to play their third XI. The home side reached 215 for 5 declared. Chris Mitchell took 3 for 45 and in a fine all round performance, went on to reach 51 not out in Sefton's total of 136 for 8 as the game was drawn. Ian Kelly scored 21.

Saturday 23rd August....Century for Nick Blackburn in third XI game.

A disappointing start to the Bank Holiday weekend for the Sefton Park sides began with a 1st XI defeat at Wavertree. They won the toss and decided to bat first, going on to be be dismissed for 102 with Chris Bellis top scoring with 24. In reply, Wavertree lost 5 wickets reaching the required total. Robbie Houghton took 2 for 42

For the second week running the 2ndXI game finished as a "no decision" because of the rain. At home to Colwyn Bay, the visitors batted first and declared on 181 for 5, Jonny Sproson took 2 for 32. Iain Squires was 28 not out in Sefton's reply of 92 for 4 when the weather stopped play.

The third XI's game against Wallasey thirds on the Lower Ground produced the highlight of the day with a century from Sefton's Nick Blackburn. Nick scored 113 and Matt Child 38 in Sefton's total of only 172. This game was also stopped by the rain as Wallasey finished on 140 for 3. Brian Viner, playing his last game for the Club finished with 2 for 28 from 11 overs.

The 4thXI visited Liverpool to play their 3rdXI and saw the home side declare on 231 for 3. Rob Kelly bowled well to take 2 for 54. Terry Cordner score 22 in Sefton's reply of 56 all out, a disappointing defeat.

The 5thXI's game against Northop Hall could not take place because another two teams turned up to use the Liverpool College ground where the fifths play their home games.
