Saturday 31st July........Win against Fleetwood Hesketh

Fleetwood Hesketh won the toss and decided to bat in the First XI game at Sefton Park. The visitors struggled to reach 170 all out in 67.1 overs with Rob Houghton taking 6 for 50. In reply a rapid 51 by Rashidi Boucher gave Sefton a good start but when the score reached 94 for 4 the task became more difficult but Rob Houghton (37 not out) and John Jackson (51 not out) steered Sefton home in 43.5 overs without losing any more wickets. Sefton now move back in to second place in the league.

The Second XI visited Northop Hall and were put in to bat, going on to score 172 for 6 declared in 51.4 overs. Gaz Cowley scored 60 not out, Dave Hort 33, Ted Williams 23 and Andy Foulder 28. In reply Northop Hall reached 143 for 5 in 31 overs in a drawn game. There were 2 wickets apiece for Ted Williams and Dave Kirby.

The Third and Fourth XI both suffered with players being absent through holidays. On the Lower Ground, the Third XI played Bootle's Thirds and were put in to bat. They were dismissed for 133 with Mike Heaney scoring 71 and Saj Khan 15. Bootle lost 6 wickets in reaching the required total with Saj Khan taking 4 for 41

The Fourth XI travelled to New Brighton to play their SR XI. The visitors won the toss and dismissed Sefton for 92, Alex Miller scored 25 and Chris Mitchell 26. Chris Smart (2 for 21) took the only two New Brighton wickets to fall in their reply.

The Fifth XI home game at Liverpool College was called off on Friday.
