Sunday 5th September....Defeat in Echo Knockout Final

Sefton came up against an excellent Ormskirk side in the Echo Knockout final at Sefton Park. In a game of two 20 over innings, Ormskirk batted first and scored 125 for 4 in their 20 overs, Rob Houghton took 3 for 26. Sefton found batting difficult in their innings and they just used the 20 overs, being all out for 79 with John Jackson scoring 25. This gave Ormskirk a first innings lead of 46 and when theyinished on 118 for 5 in their second innings, Sefton were left requiring 165 to win. This was far too many and only a last wicket stand of 35 between Daniel and Peter Kelly enabled Sefton to reach 94. Peter Kelly's 22 not out made him his side's top scorer in the second innings.
