Saturday 26th May....Defeat at Orrell Red Triangle

The First XI travelled to Orrell Red Triangle, won the toss and decided to bat first. An opening stand of 54 between Richard Forsyth (22) and Adam Irwin who went on the make 65. Adam put on 76 for the third wicket with Shane Dowrich (47). A stand of 39 for the sixth wicket between Paddy Stern (27) and Phil Calrow (28) helped the cause but Sefton then collapsed form 213 for 5 to 221 all out in 50.2 overs. This total looked to be enough as Orrell lost 4 wickets in reaching 38 but from then on the home side had no problems and reached the required total for the loss of 6 wickets in the 49th over.

The Second XI played New Brighton at Sefton Park, they won the toss and decided to bat first. Peter Jones scored 32, Elliot Supria 80 and Rob Supria 33 as they reached 221 in the 54th over. In reply, New Brighton were always in with a chance but finished on 211 for 8 in 36 overs. Andy Foulder took 4 for 41 and Rob Kelly 3 for 57 in a drawn game.

The Third XI played Liverpool's Thirds on the Lower Ground. Liverpool won the toss and decided to bat first, going on to declare on 174 for 7 in 45 overs. Mark Chappell (3 for 58) and George Lee (2 for 12) were the pick of the bowlers. Sefton reached the Liverpool total for the loss of 4 wickets, Ian Kelly (32), Ted Williams (62 not out) and George Lee (38 not out) scored the runs.

The Fourth XI met Liverpool's Fourths on the Liverpool College ground. With the sun out, all the teams winning the toss decided to bat first. In this case it was Sefton who scored 193 for 9 in 45 overs. Jon Fretwell (22), Scott Isaac (52) and Adam Taylor (38) scored the runs. Liverpool finished on 110 for 9, batting out the last four overs with 9 wickets down to gain the draw. Naj Ahmed took 3 for 6 and Ethan Knowlson 2 for 32

Sunday 27th May...Second XI progress in Chester Cup

The Second XI moved in to the second round of the Chester Cup with a 5 wicket win against Southport and Birkdale. In a high scoring game Sefton won the toss and asked Southport to bat first. They scored 251 for 8 in their 45 overs with Joe Roddis taking 3 for 46. In reply Ali Khan scored 96, Paul Eastham 52 and Mike Heaney 27 not out as Sefton reached the required total after 41 overs.

The now play New Brighton at home in the next round.

The Sunday XI suffered their first defeat of the season, away to Alder's Fifths. Sefton were all out for 198 in the 47th over with George McCaldon scoring 84 and Josh Lavender 44. Alder passed the Sefton total for the los of 3 wickets in the 35th over.

Thursday 31st May...Defeat in the Echo KO at Bootle

Sefton Park were knocked out in the first round of the Echo Knockout, following a defeat at old rivals, Bootle.

The home side won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 152 for 6 in their 20 overs with Chris Dye taking 2 for 30 and Matty Pownall 2 for 37. Sefton's reply never looked like reaching the required total but with Elliot Supria scoring 45 not out, Like Connolly 28 not out and Sean Vandome 19 they reached 106 for 4 in their 20 overs and can take away a lot of good things from the match.
