13th June .........Paul Horton plays for Lancs. and win in Embee Trophy.

Congratulations to Paul Horton who made Lancashire's top score of 42 in their defeat at Warwickshire in the Totesport League.

The 3rdXI beat Worsley in the Embee Trophy. Worsley were dismissed for 135 with Andy Foulder taking 3 for 35. Sefton Park reached this total with the loss of only 3 wickets. Andy Battersby made 43 and Ian Squires 54.

12th June.................Win at New Brighton

The 1stXI gained an excellent win at New Brighton. An opening stand of 101 by Ben Moore (46) and Vin Mane (56) gave Sefton Park a great start and Paul Horton scored 88 not out which enabled the away side to reach 255 for 3 declared. The home side were dismissed for 122 with Dave Poskitt taking 4 for 34.

The 2ndXI moved to the top of the table with a 33 run win over St Helens Recs at home. Sefton batted first and scored 188 for 5 declared mainly thanks to the Disley brothers with Phil making 74 and Neil 65. In reply the visitors were dismissed for 155 with Peter Kelly (3 for 39) and Kev Neil (3 ffor 33) being the pick of the bowlers.

The 3rd XI drew at New Brighton RW after scoring 227 for 4 declared with Nick Cockrell making 116 not out and Ian Squires 61. In reply New Brighton never chased the total and reached 150 for 6.

The 4th XI were defeated by Northern on the Lower Ground. Northern declared on 222 for 4 and Sefton Park were dismissed 10 runs short with Andy Foulder making 78.

6th June...............Defeat in National Knockout

The 1stXI suffered an 18 run defeat at Chorley in the Cockspur Cup (National KO).

Chorley, who won the toss, batted and reached 178 for 9 in the 45 overs. Robbie Houghton took 3 for 37 and Chris Whelan 2 for 21. In reply Sefton were all out for 160 in 43.3 overs with Paul Horton (43) and Chris Wylie (25)

5th June..............Another Winning Day

There were three wins for the sides that played on Saturday.

The 1XI were at home to Ormskirk and put the visitors in after winning the toss. Ormskirk were soon in trouble and were dismissed for 111 with Dave Poskitt, Stuart Wade, Robbie Houghton and Howard Parker taking two apiece. Sefton lost Paul Horton and Vin Mane early but a fine 47 from Robbie Houghton and an undefeated 22 from Chris Nicholas led the side to a six wicket victory.

The 2nd XI visited Orrell Red Triangle, like the 1stXI, dismissed the opposition for a "Nelson" with Bruce Neary taking 4 for 7. Phil Disley (40) and Howie Baird (52 not out) led the side to a nine wicket victory.

The 4thXI visited Maghull to play their 3rdXI. Sefton Park batted first and declared on 152 for 8 with Nev Bann (30), Andy Homer (33) and Paul Foulder (37 not out). Skipper Paul Foulder says that he was impressed with the batting of two young player, Matthew Phythian and David Baird. In reply Maghull were dismissed for 90 with Pama Singh (2 for 8), Andrew Foulder (3 for 19) and Matty Whelan (2 for 9) being the pick of the bowlers.

The 3rdXI game against Liverpool 4thXI was called off with Liverpool being unable fulfill the fixture.
