Sunday 28th April...National Knockout at Bowdon

Sefton Park were knocked out of the National Club Championship on a rainy day at Bowdon.

Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first. They reached a total of 279 for 9 in their 45overs. The highlight of the innings being a fourth wicket stand of 53 between skipper Adam Irwin who finished with 33 and Paul Eastham who made 45. Ali Khan scored 27 and Peter Kelly 19 not out in the Sefton total.

Rain stopped the Bowdon reply in the sixth over and following a stop for an hour and 45 minutes, the umpires decided that Bowdon required 144 in 36 overs. They reached this for the loss of 4 wickets in the 26th over. Petert Kelly finished with 2 for 44.
