Saturday 10th May...Five wickets for Jerome Jones in draw with Liverpool

Liverpool visited Sefton Park for Sefton's first home league game of the season. Unfortunately the overnight rain had put the game in doubt but excellent work by Rob Jobson and his helpers enabled a start that was only 45 minutes late.

Sefton won the toss and asked the visitors to bat and with Liverpool at 12 for 2, this seemed a good move but the third wicket put on 129 and they eventually they went on to declare on 220 for 7 in the 45th over. Sefton's highlight was 5 wickets for 57 for Jerome Jones.

In reply, with two interuptions for rain Sefton faced 34 overs. At 68 for 4, Liverpool thought that they had a chance of victory but a stand of 53 for the fifth wicket between Sean Vandome (52) and Jerome Jones who finished on 32 not out enabled Sefton to draw the game. Earlier John Jackson had scored 25.
