Thursday 5th June....Defeat in Echo Knockout

Skelmersdale defeated Sefton Park in the second round of the Echo Knockout in Sefton Park.

Skemersdale won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. An excellent knock of 40 not out by James Baird was the highlight of the Sefton total of 123 for 8 in their 20 overs. Other batsman to reach the teens were Richie Forsyth (16), Jerome Jones (14), Luke Connolly (14) and Phil Calrow (15).

It always looked the total may be a few runs short of what was required and Skem reached it in the 18th over with 3 wickets down, one apiece for Jerome Jones and Phil Calrow and a run out.

Saturday 7th June...All games rained off

The four Sefton Park games scheduled were called off because of the rain earlier and over lunch time. The Seconds and Thirds were at home to Birkenhead Park and Northern's Fourths. The First team had a bottom of the table game at Wavertree and the Fourths were at Greenbank Park to play Goodlass. The Fifths probably benefited by having their free week when other games were called off.

Next week Ainsdale visit Sefton Park for the First XI game
