The First XI were knocked out of the national T20 in the first round following a home defeat by Wallasey. After winning the toss, Sefton decided to bat first and scored 130 for 8 in their 20 overs. Mark Wilkie top scored with 29, Richie Conlan made 23 and Matty Pownall scored 18 not out in 15 balls.

There was hope for Sefton with the visitors openers out for 19 in 5 overs but 67 runs were put on for the third wicket and Wallasey went on to win by 4 wickets in 18.1 overs. Daniel Kelly was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 16.

The previous night the Third XI were knocked out of the Embee Trophy for the second year running by Liverpool. Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first, scoring 135 for 4 in their 20 overs with Neil Disley scoring 34, Andy Dickinson 24 and Mike Heaney 34 not out. Sefton's bowling was not good enough in the Liverpool reply with 28 wides being bowled and Liverpool reached the Sefton total with one over to spare and 4 wickets down
