Saturday 30th April...Three wins out of three for Sefton Park sides

With the Fourth and Fifth XI games being called off, it was three out of three for Sefton's top sides who all bowled out their opposition for less than a hundred..

At Sefton Park Northop Hall won the toss and asked the First XI to bat first. The backbone of the Sefton Park innings was the performances of Sean Vandome (60) and Jameel Stuart (56 not out) who featured in a 65 run partnership for the fourth wicket. Sefton went on to declare on 190 for 7 in 54 overs.

Northop Hall's reply began badly with the non striking batsman being run out on the first ball. They struggled on a difficult wicket and were dismissed for 58 in the 41st over. Daniel Kelly finished with 3 for 10 from 11 overs and Rob Houghton 3 for 6 in 9.1 overs. There was also a first first team wicket for sixteen year old Joe Francis who finished with 1 for 12 on 7 overs.

The Second XI visited New Brighton. The home team won the toss and decided to bat. Josh Bell took 5 for 31, Joel Parkinson 3 for 28 and Matt Garnett 2 for 19 to dismiss New Brighton for 88 in 38.4 overs. In reply Dan Coonan scored 43 and Luke Connolly 24 not out to enable Sefton to reach the New Brighton score for the loss of three wickets in 22.3 overs.

The Third XI travelled to Northern to play their GK XI. Northern won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. They went on to declare on 169 for 5 in 45 overs. Top scores were Neil Disley (23), Adam Taylor (31), Jon Hague (31), Stuart Lomas and Joe Taylor, both 25 not out. Sefton required only two bowlers, Jon Fretwell finished with 6 for 33 and Tim Gray 3 for 12 to dismiss the home side for 50 in 24.3 overs.
