Saturday 30th April......Double for Ormskirk
Neither the 1stXI or 2nd XI progressed to the semi-finals of their respective
Premier League Knockouts following defeats by Ormskirk.
At home the 1st XI game was reduced to 35 overs following the overnight rain
but Ormskirk required just 23 overs to dismiss Sefton for 78, Chris Wylie
top scoring with 22. In reply Ormskirk lost 3 wickets in 17 overs in passing
the Sefton total.
At Ormskirk the 2nd XI game was reduced to 30 overs a side. Sefton Park batted
first and reached 86 for 8, Adam Rowland scoring 19. In reply The home team
took 19 overs and lost one wicket in reaching the total.
The 3rd XI game at home was abandoned without a ball bowled and the day's
good news came from Robin Surtees's 4thXI who visted Bootle to play their
3rdXI and came away with a two wicket victory.
Bootle batted first and made 144 for 8 declared, with Brian Viner taking
4 for 39 and Sean Hogan 3 for 32. Sefton Park were struggling at 26 for 5
when Sean Hogan came in to make 46, Gareth Cowley made 46 not out. Robin Surtees
said that Sean's innings turned the game. |
