Saturday 19th August...Shakeem Clarke hat trick in win at Hightown St Mary's

The First XI travelled to bottom place Hightown St Mary's. won the toss and decided to bat first. A stand of 66 for the third wicket between Sean Vandome and Scott Aitchison set them on their way. After Sean Vandome was dismissed for 55, Scott Aitchison (66 not out) and Neil Durand (69 not out) then put on an undefeated stand of 111 for the fourth wicket. Sefton declared on 222 for 3 after 42 overs.

Hightown's reply never got going and they were dismissed for 71 in 24.3 overs. Shakeem Clarke was again the pick of the Sefton bowlers with a hat trick in his 6 for 26. This also meant that he had pat 50 league wickets for the season. Daniel Kelly took 2 for 36 and Rob Houghton 2 for 1. Sefton 's chase for second place was held up by Rainford's win and they are 46 points behind the second placed club. A lot to do but the chase continues.

The Second XI game against table toppers was unable to start despite hard work by the Sefton players. Ormskirk remain 12 points ahead of Sefton having played a game less.

Neil Disley's ND XI played Bootle's AM Third XI at Northern. Sefton batted first and were dismissed for 124 with Harry Deveney scoring 44. In reply Bootle finished on 121 for 7 in a drawn game. Tim Gray took 3 for 34 and Harry Deveney 4 for 20.

The CD XI game against Birchfield Park scheduled for the Lower Ground and the Fifth XI game against Northern's Fifths at Liverpool College were both abandoned without a ball bowled.
