Monday 30th May....Defeat at Bootle and first win for 2ndXI

The 1stXI visited Bootle in the regular Bank Holiday fixture. Sefton Park batted first and after being put in by the home team scored 112 all out with John Jackson scoring 44 and Paul Horton 25. In reply Bootle lost 3 wickets in reaching the total.

At home the 2nd XI recorded their first win in the league against Leigh who batted first and scored 51 with Steve Delve and Bruce Neary both taking 4 for 12. In reply Andy Battersby top scored with 16 as Sefton lost 5 wickets in reaching the Leigh total.

To complete the summary of the weekend's results, the Sunday XI lost at Leigh. Sefton batted first and were all out for 117 with Peter Hazlehurst (35 not out) and Ian Seabury (26) top scoring. Leigh lost 7 wickets in reaching the total.

Saturday 28th May....... First Premier League win for1stXI and Thirds play Fourths on Lower Ground

The 1st XI visited Huyton where the home team won the toss and elected to bat. Huyton made 231 for in 53 overs with Stuart Wade and Robbie Houghton each taking two wickets. In reply Sefton produced what Stuart Wade described as "one of the best run chases ever" as they passed the Huyton total with 6 overs remaining for the loss of 6 wickets. Paul Horton scored 61 and Zeeshan Pervez made 74 and Phil Disley (20) and Robbie Houghton (34) played major roles as they steadied the innings when two wickets fell in the 150's.

The 2ndXI lost at home to Ormskirk. After being put in to bat they scored 148 with Howie Baird (35) and Ted Williams (46 not out) top scoring. The visitors encountered few problems as they passed the Sefton total for the loss of 3 wickets.

On the Lower Ground, the 3rdXI played the 4thXI in Neil Disley's last game before he leaves for Australia. The 4thXI batted first and scored 175 for 8 in 59 overs with Sean Hogan (37) and John Davies (36) top scoring. Kev Neil took 4 for 27 in 17 overs to be the pick of the 3rdXI bowlers. In reply the 3rdXI took 35 overs and lost 2 wickets in reaching the total. Neil Disley delighted everyone by scoring 56 on his farewell performance. Ian Squires (49) and Phil Heath (39) were the other major contributors

Friday 27th May...Defeat in Echo KO

A busy bank Holiday weekend started with an early exit in the Echo Knockout for the 1st XI. Playing Wigan at Sefton Park, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat, a decision that was justified as they made a massive 197 for 5 in 20 overs. In reply Sefton Park never looked like reaching the total and finished on 118 for 9, with Adam Rowland (35) and Dave Poskitt (29 not out) making the best contributions.
