Saturday 23rd August.........All over at 2:15 at home and another tie for the 2ndXI

The 1stXI home game against Orrell Red Triangle was the first of the noon starts but it was delayed for fifteen minutes following the morning rain. Orrell decided to bat first and were dismissed for 59 with Stuart Wade taking 4 for 16 and Dave Poskitt 4 for 29. In reply Sefton Park required just 9 overs to reach the required total, finishing on 62 for 1 with Ben Moore (16) being the batsman out. There was valuable experience for Paul Squires who scored 17 not out as he and Ian Fielding (28 not out) guided the side to victory. The game was all over at 2:15 as many supporters were just arriving at the ground!. Fleetwood Hesketh also won quickly but only gained 20 points as Sefton Park recorded 24 to widen the gap to 9 points

The 2ndXI visited New Brighton where the home team batted first and scored 168 in 62.3 overs. Ted Williams took 4 for 33 and Ali Khan 3 for 47. In reply Phil Calrow (60) and Ted Williams (32 not out) were the top performers as Sefton reached 168 in 30 overs with three wickets still in hand. Remarkably, they lost all three wickets of Steve Delve, Matt Williamson and Ali Khan without scoring the winning run. Ted Williams was stranded at the other end as they recorded their second tie in two weeks. They remain bottom of the league

Both 3rd XIs lost. At home Raz Salim's 3RS XI played New Brighton AH and batted first scoring 187 for 9 declared. Kevin Walton top scored with 81 and Stuart Marshall-Clarke (30) and Kevin Jackson (20) scored useful runs. New Brighton reached this total with 7 wickets down in the last over of the day. Robin Surtees was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 19.

The 3NBXI visited Liverpool and batted first scoring 154 with Tony Green (61) and Terry Cordner (31) top scoring. In reply Liverpool lost 6 wickets in reaching the required total. Both 3rd XI captains said that they had been disappointed by the fielding with a number a catches being dropped. They both remain in the "relegation zone" and in two weeks time play each other.
