Minutes of the Sefton Park C.C. Management Board Meeting held on Tuesday 07th January 2014.


Present: R Paisley (Chairman), D. Cunningham, G. Pollard, T. Hughes, C.J.Pinsent,

 J. M Ledger, M. Poole, E Williams, S Lomas, Mrs J Kelly, E Wood, J Jackson and R Forsyth.

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record. Proposed J Ledger seconded D Cunningham

Invoices to be paid: £1000 to Merseyside Cricket Development Society, £850 to Picton Glass and 320 to Charnwood.


An invoice had been received from Utilities Warehouse totalling £2408.19 + VAT dated 01-Dec-2013, this was due to an under estimation of usage from when Utilities Warehouse contract commenced in March 2013. GP advised we would receive a 10% refund of the total spend on completion of 12 months.


GP again advised the Club’s finances are in a vulnerable position as we move into the winter months. After a lengthy discussion it was fully agreed that the income and expenditure requires micro-management over the next three months.

A meeting will take place on Tuesday 21-January-2014 to review the current financial position.

It is essential to reduce energy costs – all lights and or equipment not being used to be switched off – DC to advise all bar and kitchen colleagues.

It was agreed for a sub-committee is set up with immediate effect to look at the overall financial situation of the club going forward. TH to advise date and contact members who volunteered.


Proposal of an increase in subscriptions to be discussed at the next meeting



Financial Reports to end of period 2 attached along with weekly income paid into bank.

Thwaites Brewery will implement a price increase from 13th January 2014.



5 chairs have been repaired

Shutters had to be repaired due to a mechanism breakdown

Dishwasher kindly donated by Mike Poole

Toilets in the lower pavilion now repaired..



Winter nets will commence:

Seniors            January 8th 2000-2200hrs at St Margarets School

Juniors 13-15   January 9th 2000-2200hrs at St Margarets School

Juniors 9-11’s  January 10th 1800-1900hrs at Liverpool College


5th X1 captain elect has resigned froma playing membership, Cricket Committee seeking a replacement.


Cricket Committee to review the make of cricket balls for 2014 Dukes or Readers, Readers being the cheaper option


The Liverpool & District Cricket Competition AGM will take place on Tuesday 14th January 2014 at Bootle Cricket Club at 7.30pm

Proposal to be brought to the AGM by L&DCC:

8.1 That Philip Lovgreen is removed as Vice President of the MI L&DCC for breaching the MiL&DCC Code of Conduct

Section 1.4 by bringing the name of the MiL&DCC into disrepute.

Under the terms of the Constitution 7.6.3 a simple majority vote of full member clubs is required for this proposal to succeed.


SPCC Management Board agreed unanimously to vote against this proposal.

Fund Raising:

Burns night to take place on 25th January 2014

Cricket Force Day will take place on 05th April 2014.



TH raised it was agreed last year that Alder Hey would be our main charity for 2014, to be discussed at the next Board Meeting.
