This weekend we say a fond farewell to Lorna Harper, a mainstay of the women's section over the last four years.
Lorna has been invaluable on the cricket field - top wicket-taker and gun fielder. Vice captain of the women's 1st XI, Lorna was the LDCC Player of the Season for the T20 established league in 2024 and the first woman in our club to be recognised on the Lancs honour board for her bowling figures of 7 for 9.
Not only is she a great cricketer, but she's a great coach too. She's nurtured our All Stars for a number of years as well as the ever-growing girls section and organised cricket introductions for children with chronic illness for Alder Hey. And she's a lovely person too. We will all miss her and wish her well with her move abroad!
