Alex Miller Cup cancelled but fundraising continues

In a summer where rain didn’t seem possible, unfortunately it arrived over the weekend and meant the Alex Miller Cup on Sunday was cancelled.

This was due to be the 22th hosting of this 6-a-side tournament with fundraising going to C.A.L.M.

The link with this charity goes back to 2013 following the death of popular wicket keeper Alex Miller. After initial support via events at the club the Opening Up Cricket organisation was founded by members at Sefton. They have since hosted the Alex Miller Cup as well as visiting clubs across the country delivering sessions on mental wellbeing and suicide prevention through cricket.
