After winning the toss and electing to bat, Wallasey lost two early wickets both bowled by Asiri Gamage (2-23), before recovering to post a competitive total of 149-5 from their 20 overs.
The visitors kept things tight in the gathering gloom with some superb fielding and catching and despite the efforts of Jeremy Rogers (23), Nathan Paul (28) and Sam Parkinson (26) the hosts were dismissed for 107 in the final over.

Better news came from Wavertree where the women won by 38 runs in the Women's Hardball Super 8s League. Sarah Jackson was the outstanding bowler with 3-8 while Caitlin Summers (23) and Aaishah Amjad (29) did the damage with the bat.
