Sunday 17th May - Defeat for Alex Woods' Sunday XI

Just the one match to report on after the RB Sunday XI's fixture at St Helens Town fell foul of the weather.

Alex Woods' Sunday XI hosted local rivals Liverpool on the Lower Ground where the home side won the toss and elected to bat.

The skipper opened and hit 29 with great support from Rajiv Bhardwaj who finished unbeaten on 52. Hamza Maqbool chipped in with 25 as Sefton declared on 181-9 off 45 overs.

Liverpool's reply saw Dan Cuthbert take 2-27 but the visitors reached the target in the 32nd over for the loss of five wickets.

Sefton took three Under 9s sides to Liverpool for a tournament in the morning with some excellent performances from our youngsters.
