Sunday 3rd August - Kelly's heroes go top with thrilling victory

Sefton 2nd XI moved back to the top of the table after winning against Formby on Sunday with another thrilling game.

Brothers Michael (4-61) and Dave (2-38) Kelly ripped through Formby's top order to leave them 16-5 before they recovered to post 165 all out.

Sefton didn't have it all their own way in response and things were looking tricky at 77-6 after Tom Rushton was out for 33 - but Dave Kelly hit a typically belligerent 41 with great support from Raj Bhardwaj (33) as Sefton squeaked home by two wickets. Sefton are now eight points ahead at the top of the table but the next four all have a game in hand on the leaders.
