Lauren Rutland's 57 was the highlight for Sefton Women as they lost at home to Edgworth who take over at the top of the Lancashire 40 Over League. Sefton were bowled out for 152 in 34.1 overs. Edgworth eased to victory with six wickets and eleven balls to spare; Abbie Wright and Emily Renshaw with the wickets.
Sefton Women's 8 a side team were knocked out of the cup by Northern, losing by 15 runs despite 5 wickets from Frankie Morris.
Frustration for Ronan Brady's side as they were held to a draw by Mossley Hill on the lower ground. The skipper scored 48 and Dan Cuthbert 41 as Sefton posted 190-8d from 44 overs. Mossley Hill closed on 77-9 after a lengthy rear-guard action; Brady the pick of the bowlers with 3-11 including a wicket off the last ball of the game.
There were two great wins against Widnes and Liverpool for the U9s at Rainhill.
