Sunday 2nd August - Sefton Women win 30 Over Competition

Congratulations to Sefton Women who clinched the inaugural LDCC 30 Over Competition on Sunday afternoon.

Caitlin Summers and Emma Walker both scored half-centuries to take Sefton to 182-4 before an excellent display in the field saw Wavertree dismissed for 65. Eleanor Cantwell was the pick of the bowlers with 4-7.

Alex Woods' Sunday XI were in action with a trip to the Bebington Oval to play Merseyside Sports and Cultural Club in the 3rd XI Premier League.

Batting first, Alex scored 28, Harry Wright hit an unbeaten 49, Dan Cuthbert 38 and Ben Lester 27 not out as the visitors declared on 210-5.

Sefton pushed hard for the win, taking wickets regularly but MSCC closed on 165-9 in a drawn game.

Ronan Brady's Sunday XI hosted Earlestown in Division Two. Batting first, chairman Charlie Daniels made 66 before retiring with Mike Lowe also making 86 as the hosts declared on 231-6.

Earlestown's opener Gary Sandhu hit a century as the visitors passed the target with three wickets down in the 35th over.
