Sunday, June 25th - Torrential rain stops sides in their tracks

Sefton Park Women's 1st XI met Leyland Women's 2nd XI on the top pitch at Croxteth Drive in the LCF Women's 40 Over League.

Winning the toss and electing the bat, opener Emma Watson led the way hitting 40 off 58 balls in an innings that included seven boundaries.

With wickets dropping around Emma, torrential rain and thunder hit Liverpool at around 2pm forcing the abandonment of the game with Sefton Park 57-4 off 18.1 overs

The rain also forced the abandonment of Phil McLoughlin's Sunday XI's meeting with Liverpool on the lower ground after just 15 minutes with Sefton 17-1 off 2.5 overs.
