A day of hot sunshine proved difficult for Sefton Park's sides, none of whom were able to gain a victory.

The First XI travelled to St Helens to play Sutton (St Helens)

Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first.

Chris Bellis and Jeremy Rogers put on 45 for the second wicket and when Chris was out for 77, he and Paul Horton had put on 82 runs for the third wicket> Paul was eventually out for 63, Matt Young scored 22 and Sefton were able to declare on 216 for 7 in 55 overs.

In reply Sutton put on 50 for the third wicket, but Sefton were soon amongst the wickets. Daksh Singhvi took 3 for 58, Tom Spilsbury 3 for 42 and Sarhad Rustum took 2 for 18 but Sefton had five overs to remove the last pair as Sutton finished on 169 for 9 in 47 overs.

The nine points gained moved the First XI into 5th place in the table.

The Second XI welcomed Rainford to Sefton Park' The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. This decision proved totally justified as they quickly built up a good total. Their batter, Zain Mailliard scored 114 with 100 in boundaries and they were able to declare on 248 for 6 in 44 overs. Raj Bharwaj took 2 for 47 and Shadab Khan 3 for 68.

Sefton's reply began well as Luke Connolly and Joash Vinu put on 35 for the first wicket. Luke, then, held the innings together before being last out, having scored 125 in 105 balls.

Best help came from Connor Melia with 20. The game finished in a 27 run defeat for Sefton who remain ninth in the table.

The Third XI made the short journey to play Liverpool's Thirds

Liverpool won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first.

Sefton started well but both openers James Whittaker(30) and Neil Lester (10) were out with the score on 47. Of the remaining batters, James Orme top scored with 30 as Sefton were dismissed for 144 in 37.4 overs.

In reply, former Sefton batter Louis Disley scored 61 not out as Liverpool passed the Sefton total with 2 wickets down in 39 overs.

Sefton remain fourth in the table.

The Fourth XI played Liverpool's Fourths on the Lower Ground.

Sefton won the toss and decided to bat.

Rob Kennedy scored 23, Jo Ledbury 32, Tim Yates 21, Muhammad Awais 40 not out and Abhisheck Salibindia 30 in Sefton's total of 215 all out in 49.3 overs.

Sefton were able to bowl 35 overs in reply but could just remove six Liverpool wickets for 156 in a drawn game.

There were two wickets apiece for Jonathan Dopson (2 for 37), Adrian O'Hara (2 for 37) and Josemon Vincent (2 for 18)
