The First XI welcomed Hightown St Marys to Sefton Park with the visitors needing a win to help them avoid relegation.

The visitors won the toss and decided to field first.

Sefton were soon struggling at 31 for 3. There followed a stand of 51 for the fourth wicket between Matt Young (38) and Paul Horton who went on to score 21. Of the last six batters, only Adam Taylor reached double figures (12) as Sefton were dismissed for 122 in 52.3 overs.

In reply Hightown fell to 47 for 6 but recovered to 99 for 9. The last two remaining batters took the score to 6 runs short as we entered the last over. A single and a four were scored and when it looked like Hightown would win Huzaifa Zubair took the last wicket.

Huzaifa finished with 3 for 40, Jimmy Dixon 4 for 18 and Tom Spilsbury 2 for 29.

So with the last game of the season next week, the Firsts are sixth in the table. Colwyn Bay have finished top of the table and either Southport and Birkdale or Sefton's opponents next week Birkenhead Park will be promoted. Hightown St Marys have been relegated, probably with Ainsdale, although Sutton could still go down if they get less than six points and Ainsdale win.

The Second XI achieved a six wicket win in a visit to Birkenhead Park.

Deciding to field first after winning the toss, they bowled out Birkenhead Park for 113 in 39 overs. Michael Kelly took 4 for 69, James Orme 2 for 14 and Raj Bhardwaj 3 for 11

In reply, they took 24 overs to pass the home team's total with Joash Vinu scoring 54 and Alex Woods 45.

The Seconds move up to seventh in the table and welcome Ormskirk to Sefton Park next week for the final game of the season.

The Third XI travelled to play Northern's Thirds in their final game of the season.

The home side won the toss and decided to field first.

Sefton made a decent start to their innings as Charlie Daniels (20) and Ronan Brady (10) put on 34 for the first wicket. Wickets then, began to fall regularly apart from Matt Darbon (34) who held the innings together, helped by 16 from Andy Nicholas.

They were eventually dismissed for 111 in 35.2 overs.

Northern did not have it all their own way in their reply as Ronan Brady (2 for 17) and Andy Nicholas (2 for 12) reduced them to 25 for 4 but a stand of 69 for the fifth wicket helped the home side pass the Sefton total in 46.1 overs with five wickets down.

Sefton's Thirds finished fourth in the table won by Wallasey's Thirds

The Fourth XI welcomed Northop Hall's Thirds to the Lower Ground knowing that a win would achieve promotion to the Premier Division with the visitors also needing a win if they were to have a chance of promotion.

Sefton won the toss and decided to field first. Chris Mitchell took 4 for 30, Will Saunders 3 for 51 and Paul Barlow 3 for 13 to dismiss the Welsh side for 116 in 32.2 overs.

Sefton began their reply well, putting on 37 for the first wicket and when Rob Kennedy was out for 53, the score was 83 for 4, however it required 16 in 9 balls from Chris Mitchell to bring Sefton close. The ninth wicket fell on 115, one run short. Jamie Bowman scored a single to tie the scores before Josemon Vincent hit the winning run to achieve promotion on a dramatic afternoon.
