After playing th top four sides in the division over the last four weeks, the First XI welcomed lower placed Ainsdale to Sefton Park.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. After losing the first wicket on 11, they put on their best stand of the day, scoring 37 for the second wicket.

Ainsdale's run rate was never much more than two an over as Sefton chipped away at the wickets, eventually bowling them out for 119 in 42.1 overs.

Huzaifa Zubair finished with 2 for 29, as did Leo Spilsbury. Tom Spilsbury took 3 for 23, as did Connor Melia.

In reply, Sefton found the going fairly comfortable as Haroon Khan scored 38, Jeremy Rogers 21, Matt Young 40 not out and Paul Horton 20 not out to see Sefton pass the Ainsdale total with three wickets down in the 28th over.

Sefton move up to sixth place in the table and look forward to welcoming Spring View to Sefton Park next week

The Second XI travelled to local rivals Wavertree.

Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first. After losing the first wicket with 5 on the board, Joash Vinu (21) and Tom Rushton (59) put on 85 for the second wicket. Batting at five, Raj Bhardaj scored 49 and was ninth out. Sefton declared on 188 for 9 in 45 overs.

In reply, with Wavertree at 68 for 4 and 128 for 5, Sefton looked to be in with a chance but Wavertree's skipper Edward Hopkins, scored 69 not out and steered them to victory by 4 wickets in the 40th over. Pete Ostler finished with 3 for 29 and Finn Spragg 2 for 51.

Sefton remain ninth in the table.

The Thirds played Northern's Fourths on the Lower Ground.

Northern won the toss and decided to bat first. They lost the first two wicket for 2 runs and never recovered from that point, being dismissed for 50 in 24.1 overs.

Chris Mitchell took 5 for 15 and Will Saunders 2 for 5.

Sefton's reply was fairly simple with James Orme (32 not out) and Abdul Muhaiman (20 not out) scoring the required runs off just 25 balls.

Sefton remain fourth in the table.

The Fourth XI were another team to suffer a defeat by Wavertree.

At the Liverpool College ground, Wavertree 4th XI won the toss and decided to bat first. Zainullag Gul took 3 for 22, Josemon Vincent 4 for 32 and Jack Hoban 2 for 23. to dismiss Wavertree for 139 in 38 overs.

The Wavertree total looked achievable but Sefton collapsed to 53 for 8. Zainullah Gul (34 not out) and Jack Hoban (17) led a recovery but eventually, they were all out for 121 in the 32nd over.

The Fourths remain second in the table and face an exciting promotion race with three games of the season left.
