The First XI's defence of the Ray Tyler Trophy began with St Helens Town conceding.
They now meet Northop Hall in the next round.
No game for the Seconds who had a bye in the cup.
The Third XI travelled to play Wallasey's Fourth XI.
Sefton batted first and declared on 196 for 8 with Shadab Khan scoring 42, Alex Woods 68 and James Whittaker 25.
In reply Wallasey were dismissed for 80 with Ronan Brady taking 5 for 15.
On the Lower Ground, the Fourths, under the new captaincy of Tim Yates, welcomed Northop Hall Thirds
The visitors batted first and after losing the first wicket on 19, they, then, put on 164 for the second. Their opener, Ben Hicks was run out for 100 and they moved on to declare on 216 for 7 off 42 overs. Jamie Bowman finished with 3 for 33 and Paul Barlow 2 for 13.
In reply, Sefton struggled, apart from Navi Singh, who scored 29 in 27 balls. and they were dismissed for 81 in 26.2 overs after losing their last five wickets for just two runs, with Hicks completing an outstanding game with a hat-trick.
