Fourth XI

New Brighton Fourth XI 118 all out

Sefton Park won by 10 wickets



As a new season starts, the First XI welcomed Highfield to Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, The opening partnership put on 22 before the first wicket fell. They, then, moved to 32 for the second wicket but after that wickets fell regularly and they were dismissed for 63 in (25.1 overs). Highlight of Sefton's bowling was 7 for 24 in 13 overs by Jimmy Dixon, Huzaifa Zubair took 2 for 16.

In reply, Sefton lost two early wickets but a stand of 36 for the third between skipper Paul Horton (22 not out) and Chris Bellis (28) ensured that a victory was achieved which was by 7 wickets in 27.3 overs

The Second XI travelled to Northern where the home side won the toss and elected to bat first. They declared on 183 for 6 in 45 overs with Mark Chappell taking 3 for 48.

68 not out by opener Rob Supria and 65 by George Lee enabled Sefton to pass the Northern total in the 36th over with 4 wickets down.


Newly promoted Birkenhead Park Thirds played Sefton's Thirds on the Lower Ground.

Birkenhead batted first and were dismissed for 77 in 29 overs. Chris Mitchell took 5 for 17, Ronan Brady 2 for 7 and Ollie Vasco 2 for 23.

No trouble for Sefton Park in reply as they passed the Birkenhead total without out losing a wicket in 16 overs. James Daniels finished with 34 not out and Paul Morris 35 not out.

The Fourth XI crossed the Mersey to play New Brighton Fourths

New Brighton batted first and were dismissed for 118 with new boy James Hughes taking 3 for 10, Paul Barlow 2 for 8 and Kashif Makik 2 for 27.

It was another ten wicket victory for a Sefton Park side as Rob Kennedy (30 not out) and Kaash Patel (81 not out) passed the New Brighton total in 14 overs.
