The First XI travelled to Fleetwood Hesketh for their second game of the season. Not surprisingly, they found a difficult wicket, but despite this the home side decided to bat first.

After Jimmy Dixon had gone for 10 runs in his first over, Huzaifa Zubair struck from the other end and Fleetwood Hesketh were soon 23 for 5. A stand of 28 then followed for the sixth wicket but after that, with the score on 51, only six more runs were added before the home side were out for 57 in the 21st over.

Jimmy Dixon finished with 3 for 30, Huzaifa Zubair 2 for 21, Daniel Kelly 3 for 5 and Abhisheck Jagan 2 for 1.

In reply, Haroon Khan (16) and James Stirling (4) put on 21 for the first wicket before the score fell to 36 for 4. However Daniel Kelly (10 not out) and Australian, Noah Olejniczak (8 not out) steered them to victory in 23 overs.

The home sides held a minutes silence in memory of Wilf Johnstone before the start of their games.

The Second XI welcomed Southport and Birkdale to Sefton Park. Southport won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored steadily to reach 87 for 4, but then lost wickets to find themselves on 118 for 9. However, then followed a crucial last wicket stand of 29 to enable them to finish on 147 all out in 41.3 overs. Dave Kelly finished with 3 for 30, Tom Spilsbury 4 for 40 and Chris Mitchell 2 for 16.

Opener Luke Connolly scored 50 in the Second XI's reply and was ninth man out with the score on 111 but the only real support he got was from Dave Kelly who scored 28 in their stand of 41 for the fourth wicket. Sefton were eventually out for 115 in the 34th over.
