The three Sefton Parks sides that played all batted first and all made good starts.

The First XI travelled to Wales to play Northop Hall

Northop Hall won the toss and decided to field first.

Sefton openers put on 105 for the first wicket with Chris Bellis scoring 47 and Haroon Khan going on to score 71. Paul Horton came in a t number four to score 52 and Jeremy Rogers scored 32. Northop Hall had used mainly spinners from the start and Sefton were able to bat on to the 63rd over when they declared on 219 for 7

The Northop Hall innings, in reply, was remarkable. They put on 77 for the first wicket and then lost four wickets on that total, all falling to Huzaifa Zubair. Another wicket fell on 81 and the sixth on 84. They reached 160 for 9 and then batted for six overs to save the draw.

Huzaifa Zubair finished with 5 for 48 and Tom Spilsbury 2 for 51.

The game finished with six points apiece and Sefton remain seventh in the table

Newton le Willows were the visitors to Sefton Park for the Second XI game.

In this game, Sefton put on 90 for the first wicket with Joash Vinu being the first out, scoring 38. His fellow opener, Rob Supria went on to be fourth out, scoring 136 in 95 balls. Sam Parkinson scored a valuable 38 runs and Sefton were able to deeclare on 47 for 6 in 45 overs.

Newton le Willows reply began badly, losing the first two wickets with just 2 on the board. At 65 for 6, Sefton had high hopes of a victory but a stand of 83 for the seventh wicket meant that they could play out for a draw quite comfortably, finishing on 147 for 7 in 42 overs.

Daniel Cuthbert finished with 2 for 13, Sarhad Rustum 2 for 31.

So it was eight points for Sefton who remain ninth in the table.

The Third XI played New Brighton and were the one side to turn a good start into a victory

After winning the toss, Sefton scored 133 for the first wicket with Alex Woods scoring 71 and James Whittaker going on to score 50. Scott Hawkes added 21 runs and Sefton were able to declare on 215 for 7 in 39 overs.

In reply 16.1 overs were required to bowl out New Brighton for 75. Jonathan Dopson took 3 for 29 and Chris Mitchell 4 for 4 in 2 overs.

The Thirds remain fourth in the table
