The First XI made the long journey to Lytham with a side made weaker through holidays, injures and pop concerts.
.The home side won the toss and asked Sefton to bat first. Sefton's progress was slow and rain interrupted but 56 not by James Stirling, 29 by Luke Connolly and 34 not out by Daniel Kelly enabled them to reach 135 for 3 in 51 overs when the rain intervened.
The Second XI welcomed Rainford to Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first going on to reach 135 for 6 when the rain prevented any more action
Chris Mitchell finished with 3 for 45
