Sunday 11th May - Women beat Ramsbottom but U11s miss out in final

Congratulations to Whalley Range U11s who won the delayed 2024 Lancashire Knockout Final against Sefton this morning. A great effort from all the Sefton players and coaches to make it to the final but unfortunately it wasn't to be today.

Sefton Women beat last season's champions Ramsbottom in the Lancashire 40 Over League at Croxteth Drive this afternoon. Chasing the visitors' 175-7, opener Abbie Wright blasted 73 from 69 balls to set Sefton on their way, putting on 56 for the first wicket with Laura Stringman and, after three wickets went quickly, 50 for the fourth wicket with Alice Kelly. Ramsbottom chipped away but Luvy Brroks and Apoorva Aji, who also took 3-18, saw Sefton home for a three wicket win.

The victorious women's team

Sefton Sapphires U12 Girls lost a tight game at Wavertree by 9 runs and there was a win and a tie and some great performances for Sefton U11 Girls at the Northern softball tournament.
