Bank Holiday defeat for First XI against Liverpool

The First XI played Liverpool at Sefton Park in the fifth of the "restart games".

Sefton won the toss and asked Liverpool to bat first. At 101 for 6, Sefton were in a decent position but a stand of 50 for the seventh wicket gave Liverpool a respectable total before they lost their last three wickets for a further 7 runs to finish on 158 all out in 37.3 overs. Jimmy Dixon took 3 for 19, Huzaifa Zubair 3 for 35 and Phil Calrow 2 for 24.

In reply, it is fair to say that the Sefton Park innings did not get going as they soon found themselves on 26 for 6. There looked a chance of revival as Richie Conlan (14) and Jimmy Dixon (8) put on 20 for the seventh wicket but once they were gone, the game was over as Sefton were bowled out for 54 in 27.1 overs.
