The First XI travelled to play old rivals, top of the table Bootle.

The visitors won the toss and decided to field first.

This proved a good decision as Sefton soon fell to 18 for 3 and 47 for 4 but a stand 91 between Paul Horton and Noah Olejniczak put Sefton back on track. Matt Young (39) and Paul then put on 76 for the sixth wicket which enabled Sefton to declare on 222 for 6 in 60 overs with Paul Horton finishing on 89 not out.

In reply, Bootle made a steady start but then picked up the pace and were able to just make it home in 40.3 overs and 5 wickets down.

Sefton now drop to seventh in the table with a visit of Maghull to Sefton Park next week.

Formby were the visitors to Sefton Park for the Second XI game and they won the toss and decided to bat first.

Dave Kelly opened the bowling for Sefton and his first three balls were wicket - four - wicket. Formby were then recovered but Sefton were still in a good position with the score on 60 for 4 but a stand of 82 for the fifth wicket, helped by some dropped catches, put Formby on top. They were eventually all out for 200 in 43.4 overs.

In reply Sefton lost two early wickets , recovered a little to reach 48 for 3 but then found the target that Formby had set to be too difficult despite good innings from Nathan Paul (41), Dave Kelly (27) and Andy Aitchison (29). They were all out for 147 in 34.2 overs.

After some disappointing results, they are now fourth in the table.
