Overnight rain on the outfield prevented a prompt start to the First XI game at home to Orrell Red Triangle. The game started at 1;30 pm one and a half hours late.
A Sefton side, without a number of regulars, won the toss and decided to bat first. Their first two wickets fell on 9 and 30. Then, followed a stand of 67 between Chris Bellis (37) and Paul Horton. Paul was the next wicket to fall, having scored 47 with the score on 114. Sarhad Rustom scored 20 and James Stirling 29 not out which enabled Paul Horton to declare on 162 for 5 in 47 overs.
This left Orrell with an hour and 20 overs.
They were able to pass the Sefton total with 3 overs to spare in their 33 rd over with 4 wickets down.
Sefton now drop to fifth in the table and have a visit to Southport and Birkdale next week.
