The First XI welcomed Sutton (St Helens) to Sefton Park.

Sefton won the toss and elected to bat first.

Jeremy Rogers (30) and Haroon Khan made a solid start putting on 66 for the first wicket. Haroon was dismissed for 62 with the score on 102 for 3. Paul Horton was then joined by Sarhad Rustum in the middle and they put on 81 for the fourth wicket before Paul was out for 34. Sarhad went on to be the fifth wicket down, scoring 44. Huzaifa Zubair added 24 not out and Sefton were able to declare on 233 for 5 in 55 overs.

In reply, Sefton took three quick wickets to reduce Sutton to 21 for 3. The introduction of spinners to the attack reduced the visitors to 101 for 8 despite a stand of 50 for the fifth wicket. A stand of 55 followed for the the ninth wicket before the visitors were all out for 171 in 41.3 overs.

Jimmy Dixon finished with 3 for 46, Tom Spilsbury 4 for 48 and Connor Melia 2 for 22.

The First XI remain at the top of the table with a visit to Highfield next week.

The Second XI travelled to Rainford where the home side won the toss and decided to bat first. They lost two quick wickets for 4 runs before moving on to 72 for 6. Their best stand of 40 for the seventh wicket took them to 112 before they were dismissed for 138 in 38 overs.

Michael Kelly finished with 3 for 65, Andy Nicholas 2 for 15 and Shadab Khan 4 for 10.

What looked like an achievable total always proved just out of reach for Sefton and they were dismissed for 126 in 37 overs. Rob Supria scored 23 in 11 balls, Ben Lester 21 and Michael Kelly 23 not out. Sefton are ninth in the table.


The Third XI travelled to play Wallasey. Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first.

James Daniels scored 20, Tom Wilkinson 24 and Navi Singh 30 in an innings that never quite got going and finished with a hat trick for opposition bowler Jake Raynor. Sefton were all out for 129 in 33.5 overs.

In reply, Wallasey passed the Sefton total with four wickets down in he 27th over. Navi Singh took 2 for 13.


The Fourth XI played Birkenhead Park's fourths for the second week running, this time at home.

Sefton batted first and declared on 190 for 7 with Rob Kennedy scoring 24, Mohammad Awais 23, Scott Hawkes 19, Ed Carrington 24 and skipper Tim Yates, who declared with his score on 49 not out.

In reply, Scott Hawkes took 4 for 30 and in-form Jamie Bowman 5 for 25 as Birkenhead Park were dismissed for 150 with just 12 balls remaining.
