Sefton Women moved back to the top of the Lancashire 40 Over League after beating Hightown St Mary's. Alice Kelly (62) got the Sefton innings off to a great start before Sarah Jackson (45) and Eleanor Cantwell (29) took the total to 191-7. Frankie Morris then took 3-9 and Lucy Brooks 2-35 as Hightown could only make 122 in response. A huge thanks goes to the team's sponsor Steve Row.
There were also good wins for both Sunday teams.
Alex Woods' side racked up 241-5d in 40 overs on the lower ground with runs for Sarhad Rustom (66), Muhammad Ibrahim (54no) , Jack Clemments (43no), Abhishek Jagan (34) and Adam Taylor (24) before bowling out Formby 4XI for 116.
Sefton Sunday RBXI bowled out Ormskirk 4XI for 116 and knocked them off for the loss of four wickets. Highlight was a brilliant spell from Simon Povey who took 5-8 off 6.1 overs with two wickets apiece for Jamie Bowman (2-11) and Finn Spragg (2-38). Opener Ben Wykes hit 28 with skipper Ronan Brady striking 58 not out off 35 balls to wrap the game up.
