Sunday 4th May - Big win for women and seven wickets for Brady

Sefton Women began their Lancashire 40 Over League campaign off with a 105 run win at Edgworth.

Caitlyn Summers (30) and Lorna Harper (27) top-scored as Sefton posted 158 in 33.4 overs. Caitlyn then took 2-17, Lorna 2-3 and Alice Kelly 3-9 as they kept the pressure on to dismiss their hosts for 53.

Sefton Sunday AWXI were bowled out for 106 (Father and son duo Ben Lester (28) and Neil Lester (25) top scoring) at Wigan. Wigan chased down the total for the loss of 5 wickets.


Skipper Ronan Brady took 7-33 and Finn Spragg 2-34 as Bootle 5XI slipped from 85-0 to 130 all out. Sefton Sunday RBXI had earlier posted 186-6d from 38 overs; 15-year-old Dan Cuthbert scoring 60 and Mike Lowe 39.


Sefton Sharks U12 Girls fell to defeat at Wavertree in the morning - but more great experience for a team where the majority are in their first few hardball games.
