A fantastic effort by Sefton U11 (2025) at the rearranged 2025 U11 Lancashire Knockout Finals Day at Orrell Red Triangle saw them narrowly miss out on silverware.
Having beaten Lowerhouse in the semi-final, Sefton came up just seven runs short in the final against Whalley Range in a game which was nip and tuck all the way. Every player was a real credit to the club and they should be very proud of all their achievements in reaching the final.
Many congratulations to Whalley Range on clinching the trophy.

Sefton Women slipped from 62-3 to 79 all out in their Lancashire 40 Over League game at Edgworth; Eleanor Cantwell scored 20 and Sarah Jackson, who was last out, 35. Edgworth had set 190-6 from their 40 overs with two wickets each for Jackson and Apoorva Aji.
A good win for Alex Woods' Sunday XI at Ainsdale. Having promptly declared upon reaching maximum batting points on 30 overs, youngsters Seb Wheatcroft, Dan Cuthbert and Finn Spragg each took two wickets as Ainsdale were bowled out for 129. Sefton's 175-4d was built on runs from skipper Woods (43), Cuthbert (27), Hamza Maqbool (27) and Raj Bhardwaj (30).
Ronan Brady scored 51 and Chris Mitchell 50 as Sefton Sunday RBXI posted 181-8d against Maghull 4XI at Croxteth Drive. They were unable to force victory, however, as Maghull closed on 146-8; Mitchell the pick of the bowlers with 3-20.
There was also a good win for Sefton U11 Red against Birkenhead Park and more great experience for our younger players at softball tournaments in the morning.
