Wednesday 31st May - First XI exit Echo Knockout

The First XI had a tough draw after being pulled out of the hat to face Cheshire Premier League side Oxton in the Preliminary Round of the Liverpool Echo Knockout Trophy and so it proved on Wednesday evening.

Batting first, the hosts reached 182-3 off their 20 overs with Noah Olejniczak picking up 2-19. Former Leicestershire batter, Harry Dearden, hit an unbeaten 64, including four sixes.

In reply, Harron Khan (21), Paul Horton (21) and James Stirling (36) all batted well but Sefton closed on 106-5 in a 76 run defeat.
