The First XI welcomed New Brighton to a sunny Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. Sefton took two early wickets to put the score on 32 for 2 but then a stand of 172 for the third wicket put New Brighton into a winning position. The stand featured a century from South African Pite Van Biljon (113). From this New Brighton went on to declare on 255 for 8 in 54 overs. Huzaifa Zubair finished with 5 for 53 and Ayan Madhu 3 for 21
In reply, Sefton were soon at 13 for 2, Kemar Smith hit 53 off 40 balls but when he was out, the score was 87 for 5. The Sefton tail offered some resistance with Leo Spilsbury scoring 18 off 58 balls and Mark Chappell 34 off 48 balls but they were finall bowled out for 171 in the 17th over of the last 20.
The Second XI travelled to play Southport and Birkdale and soon found themselves in trouble after deciding to bat first. They were eventually dismissed for 69 which S&B knocked off for the loss of 3 wickets.
The Third XI featured in what was described as "A fantastic game of cricket ended with a narrow Northern victory by 5 runs. A debut unbeaten 50 for young Sam Parkinson nearly pulled of victory for Sefton against top of the table Northern GK"
Not a lot to add to that but Northern declared on 205 for 8 in 45 overs with Tom Spilsbury taking 3 for 26 and Greg Moore 2 for 13.
Opener Harry Wright scored 45 for Sefton but it was an undefeated 62 by Sam Parkinson that nearly won the day for Sefton who were dismissed for 200 in the
