The First XI welcomed table toppers Southport Trinity to Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first.

Sefton soon struck with Leo Spilsbury taking two quick wickets, reducing the visitors to 10 for 2. Two wickets for Huzaifa Zubair meant that they were 66 for for 4 but they, then, produced a stand of 95 for the fifth wicket. They went on to be all out for 224 in 54.2 overs.

In reply, Sefton scored 27 for the first wicket and produced a stand of 51 for the third wicket between Paul Horton and Ben Percival who scored 50. Huzaifa Zubair came in next and scored 30 in 21 balls. Paul Horton scored 60 and was seventh out, Scott Aitchison scored 27 in 21 balls but Sefton were always just behind the required run rate and finished on 213 for 9 in 47 overs.

So it was nine points apiece with Sefton remaining seventh in the table with a visit to in form Northop Hall next week.

The Second XI travelled to Formby, won the toss and decided to bat first.

The highlight of their innings was was a century by Matt Young, scoring 121 in 105 balls.

He was assisted by two scores of 29 from Tom Wilkinson and Ben Lester as Sefton were all out for 233 in 44 overs.

Formby's reply began fairly well, reaching 89 when the second wicket fell but fell apart a little with Pete Ostler taking 5 for 35 and Dan Cuthbert 3 for 33 to dismiss the home side for 144 in the 36th over.

Sefton remain eighth in table and play Newton le Willows at Sefton Park next week


The Third XI travelled to play Ormskirk's thirds

Ormskirk batted first and scored 191 all out with Jack Dobson taking 4 for 61, Ian Dawes 2 for 95 and Alex Woods 2 for 8

Jack Sawbridge scored 49 in Sefton's reply but they only able to reach 133 all out.


The Fourth XI played Liverpool's Fourths on the Lower Ground.

Sefton scored 188 all out in 43 overs. with in form Mike Heaney scoring 89 and Peter Jones 21.

In reply, Josemon Vincent took 3 for 18 and Will Saunders 3 for 31 to dismiss Liverpool for 147.
