Before the games started all players held a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the tragedy in Southport last Monday.

The First XI welcomed Fleetwood Hesketh to Sefton Park.

Acting skipper Chris Bellis won the toss and decided to bat first. Two wickets fell early to leave Sefton on 23 for 2 before there followed a stand of 90 between Chris (47) and Ben Percival (who went on to make 70). After Ben was out with the score on 147 for 4, wickets fell quickly to leave the score on 156 for 7. Jimmy Dixon (9) and Abhishek Jagan (19) took the score to 185 for 8 but there were no more runs as Sefton were dismissed for 185 in 53.4 overs.

In reply, the visitors were soon in trouble and with Abhishek Jagan taking four early wickets, and Tom Spilsbury two, to leave the the visitors on 40 for 7. However, they rallied to reach 93 for 8 before eventually being dismissed for 135 in the 36th over. Abhishek finished with 4 for 21, Tom Spilsbury 2 for 35, Dan Kelly 2 for 13 and Noah Olejniczak 2 for 34.

The First XI remain fifth in the Division One table.

The Second XI kept up their recent good form as they visited Southport and Birkdale.

The home side won the toss and decided to bat first. After losing the the first wicket with just 2 on the board, the hosts then put on 53 for the second wicket. This was as good as it got, however, as they went on to be all out for 82 in 30.5 overs. Dave Kelly took 5 for 41, Jack Lavery 2 for 5 and Raj Bharwaj 2 for 0.

The target proved no problem for Sefton as they reached 45 before a wicket fell with Kaash Patel scoring 31. Pete Ostler then steered them to victory with Matt Young. Pete finished with 31 not out as Sefton completed an eight wicket victory in 22 overs.


The Third XI made the trip to play Ormskirk's Thirds.

Sefton batted first and reached 190 all out with Liam Tollady scoring 59, Paul Morris 42, Joel Vinu 38 and Charlie Daniels 21 not out.

in reply, Ormskirk dug in for the draw but were denied at the last by Ben Lester who took 5 for 31 including a wicket in the last over. Liam completed a brilliant individual performance with 3 for 28.


The Fourth XI played New Brighton's Thirds on the Lower Ground.

Sefton batted first and struggled to 69 for 5. Skipper Jo Ledbury batted at number seven and enjoyed a partnership of 31 with Rahul Chandrashekar (17) before he eventually ran out of partners and was left stranded on 40 not out as the host were dismissed for 155 in 38.2 overs.

New Brighton had little trouble in passing the Sefton total with just 3 wickets down. Andy Aitchison took 2 for 36.
