The First XI welcomed promoted Hightown St Mary to Sefton Park.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. This did not prove a good decision as the found themselves on 15 for 3. They recovered to 71 for 4, 94 for 5 and 123 for 6. The run rate, then, slowed and the last four wickets fell for a further 39 runs as they were dismissed for 162 in 47 overs. Huzaifa Zubair finished with 3 for 20, Abhishek Jagan 2 for 25 and Mark Chappell 3 for 21.

Sefton soon found out that their reply would not be easy as they lost Haroon Khan (14) with the score on 15, then Kaash Patel (4) on 20, then Chris Bellis (14) on 39. Paul Horton (19) and James Stirling (26) steadied the ship but when they were out on 82 and 83 respectively, the target looked a long way off. However 33 in 42 balls from Huizafa Zubair and a rapid 14 in 12 balls from Dave Kelly took them nearer their target and in the end, they were left requiring 12 run with one wicket left and the ten and eleven batsmen in.

Naimat Karyab faced a difficult over from West Indian pace bowler Gordon Bryan and the next over saw a single from Abhishek Jagan put Naimat on strike again. This, he enjoyed and with the scores one short for Sefton, anything was possible. Naimat struck the ball on the leg side and they were able to scamper two and a second league victory was achieved.

25 points for Sefton Park who move to 3rd in the table
