The First XI made the short trip to Old Xaverians who are fighting against relegation.

Xavs won the toss and decided to bat first.

A good opening stand of 45 was ended with Huzaifa Zubair taking wickets in consecutive balls. They, then, lost the third and fourth wickets with the score on 73, then put on 30 for the 6th wickets before being dismissed for 142 in 36.1 overs.

In reply, on a difficult wicket, Sefton's reply did not begin well as they fell to 36 for 3.

However Ben Percival who came in after the first wicket fell with the score on 11 remained defiant. He put on 41 with Sarhad Rustum for the fourth wicket and joined up with Paul Horton after the fifth wicket fell. They were able to steer Sefton home with Ben finishing on 84 not out and Paul 31 not out.

The First XI now move into fourth place in the table, level on points with Southport and Birkdale.

A Rainford side including former Sefton Park player, Tom Spilsbury, were the Second XI's opponents at Sefton Park.

Rainford won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost their first two wickets for 6 runs. Then followed a stand of 32 for the third wicket. They never found batting easy and eventually lost the last three wickets with the score on 117, being all out in 40.4 overs.

Jack Lavery finished with 2 for 16, Michael Kelly 3 for 30 and Mark Chappell 3 for 21.

Sefton, also did not find runs coming too quickly but opener Andy Aitchison stuck around and with the score on 54 for 5, he was joined by his brother Scott. The two of them managed to steer Sefton home in 34.4 overs. Scott Aitchison finished with 34 not out and Andy Aitchison 32 not out

The Second XI have now finished their fixtures. Ormskirk have won the league and Northern in third place could overtake Sefton. Still, a very good season.
