On a better weekend for weather, the First XI won the toss and decided to bat first in their home game against Old Xaverians.

Openers James Stirling (25) and Chris Bellis (who went on to score 65) put on 55 for the first wicket. Chris remained there as they fell to 74 for 4 before he put on 35 for the fifth wicket with Daniel Kelly (23) 21 for the sixth wicket with Richie Forsyth (26). Huzaifa Zubair then scored 33 not out to enable Sefton to declare on 202 for 8 in 60 overs.

With Jimmy Dixon not available, the two young left armers opened the bowling and by the time they had finished their spells, the visitors were 33 for 5. Sefton then reduced the visitors to 49 for 8 before stands of 35 for the ninth wicket and 22 for the tenth took them half way into the last 20 overs before they were dismissed for 106 in 36.3 overs.

Huzaifa Zubair finished with 3 for 15 Leo Spilsbury 3 for 32 and Ayan Madhu 2 for 30.

The Second XI travelled to Crosby to play Northern. Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first. This decision was justified as Deva scored 77 and Matt Young 74 to enabled them to reach 162 for 2, Nathan Paul added 38 and they declared on 236 for 7 in 45 overs.

In reply, Chris Mitchell took 7 for 46 in 13 overs as Northern were reduced to 90 for 9, they then put on another 92 runs before being dismissed for 182 in 32.4 overs. Sarhad Rustom took 2 for 13


The Third XI played a strong Liverpool Superkings on the Lower Ground.

The Superkings batted first and Sefton did well to dismiss them for 171 with Pete Elliott took 4 for 20.

In reply, Paul Morris made a rapid 30 to start off the innings. Tom Rushton scored 41 and Prajesh 35 but in the end they were disappointed to finish just 9 runs short with 162.

The Fourth XI travelled to play Bootle's Thirds.

Sefton batted first and declared on 186 for 7 with Rajiv scoring 61 and Rhys Owen 60.

In reply, Chris Slater took 3 for 10, Ian Dawes 3 for 21 and Luke Rotherham 2 for 10 as Bootle were dismissed for 74
