The First XI travelled to play St Helens Town in the preliminary round of the National T20.
Sefton Park won the toss and elected to bat first. After Kemar Smith was out for 1 with the score on 4, wickets fell steadily. The highest stand was 12 for the 7th wicket between Ayan Madhu (2) and Huzaifa Zubair (8). Leo Spilsbury came in at number 9 and scored 16 not out, only Ben Percival (11) also reached double figures and in the end Sefton were dismissed for 66 in 19.3 overs.
In reply, Sefton had the home side on 22 for 3 but that was as good as it got and St Helens went to win by 7 wickets with the game finishing with 5 penalty runs as a helmet was hit on the ground. Jimmy Dixon was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 15 but 16 wides were conceded by the Sefton bowlers, too many when defending the low total.
